BYOD (Bring Your Own Device)
As part of the district's new BYOD Policy, students and staff can now connect their MLDs (Mobile Learning Devices) to the school network. This exciting new policy provides teachers with an amazing resource that can be used to increase student engagement and motivation. Simply put, teachers can now ask that students use their smart phones, tablets, and other mobile devices during hands-on lessons. Check out the links below to get information about free resources that will allow you to integrate MLDs into your lessons!
Kahoot
Kahoot is a type of web-based Student Response System. Students can answer questions shown on the SMART board using their phones, tablets, and other MLDs. While most student response systems just pop up questions for students to answer via their devices, Kahoot takes the quiz game approach. Students become actively engaged in the questions and compete to get the correct responses. |
Here is a video showing students using their MLDs to respond to teacher-created Kahoot questions. |

Quizalize helps teachers quickly determine the strengths, weaknesses, and learning gaps of individual students and intervene in real-time to give one to one assistance in the classroom. Socrative
